Lecturer, Korean Language
The Department of Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two full-time Lecturers in the Korean language, to begin January 15th, 2019. Candidates will be expected to teach courses in all levels of the Korean language and to assist with the development of curriculum. Native-speaker competence in Korean is required, as well as an explicit understanding of the linguistic properties of the Korean language. Candidates who are familiar with current trends in language-teaching methodologies, including technology-related pedagogy, will be given preference. Located at the flagship campus of the University of Texas System, the Department of Asian Studies provides an excellent and exciting context for teaching and research in the classical and modern languages of the Asian region. This position is only offered on a temporary basis and is contingent upon student enrollment, the availability of funding, and performance. A record of advanced teaching experience of five or more years is preferred. Security sensitive position; background check conducted on applicant selected.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (M.A. is preferred). Successful candidates will be required to complete the Federal Employment Eligibility Verification form, I-9, and will be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States.
